Something Different

The last few weeks have been spent upgrading my computer, Gray. Gray is more of a duel purpose machine, not just a gaming machine. This is also what I do my post processing on, so a lot of time and planning went into this upgrade. More than just, “take old parts out, put new parts in.” I had to figure out what parts I wanted to change, research how beneficial the new hardware would be, decide what would fit into my budget, shop for the best deals, then finally packages arrived and I changed out parts in the machine last week. I hadn’t changed anything in this system in five years, so there was quite a bit to look at and consider.

I don’t want this post to turn into a tech gush, so about this picture. Why black and white? I think black and white gives the image an industrial vibe and allows more of the contrasty details to show through instead of the eye just automatically being drawn by all the pretty lights. Black and white also allowed me to tame the glares caused by the brightest parts of the image as well as reduce colored light pollution in the rest of the image. Black and white doesn’t always work for an image, but when it does I always enjoy the level of detail that I’m able to convey.
