I take my camera with me when I go walk in the evenings and take pictures of the plants that I see. In the fall it’s colorful leaves, and in spring and summer, which is coming to an end now, it’s flowers.
I use my 50mm “nifty fifty” lens when I do this to keep the camera light and more compact. This also makes me think about the composition a bit more. It’s like going back to basics, sharpening and relearning what goes into a shot, and sometimes just playing with my camera. I enjoy all the different colors and the challenge of not always having the best light. Even if I don’t come away with a lot of keepers I still always feel like I get something out of doing this.
